Jack (Qimeng) Zhang

Education: Bachelor of Arts: History and Linguistics from Auckland University; Graduate Diploma in Teaching (ECE) from NZ Tertiary Colledge (NZTC).

Languages: Mandarin, Cantonese, English, German.

My name is Jack, and I am thrilled to join the Ficino family! I am originally from China but have spent seven years in this beautiful country. I studied history and linguistics; however, I decided to pursue education upon graduation. It is my second year in ECE, and I have been enjoying extending my knowledge and learning alongside tamariki.

In my own time, I like to read, especially when it comes to history. I have also traveled a lot. I have lived in four countries and speak four languages. My teaching philosophy is to appreciate and respect children’s mana and tapu. I like to be a participator instead of a facilitator; I LOVE being around children and becoming part of their learning journey!

I look forward to seeing you all.
